The sedan W123 series was presented in January 1976 and in September of the following year, in Frankfurt, Mercedes unveiled the station wagon version, named the “T”. With a body line perhaps even more elegant than that of the sedan, the T didn't sell a lot: only 3% of the W123s marketed in the model's entire career turn out to be breaks. Some models have become very rare, such as the 125hp 300TD turbodiesel introduced in the late 1980s. Among the other fairly sought-after models, the 280TE.
