Toyota produces large minivans for the Japanese market under the name Alphard / Vellfire. The origin for the Alphard dates back to 2002 and the range was renewed in 2015. Despite their age, these cars still ensure an impressive volume of sales: 95,000 units for the Alphard, 6000 for the Vellfire. By way of comparison, the best-selling Nissan in Japan was the Note in 2021, which totaled 90,000 units. The engines are a 182hp 4-cylinder hybrid and a 3500cc (301hp) V6. The gearbox is CVT or 8-speed automatic (on the V6). The traction is front on the hybrid or 4x4. The weight ranges from 1920 to 2240kg.
