Out of the norm, but standard: the Renault 5 Turbo had nothing to do with the 5 that you saw every day on the road. Characterized by a 1.4-liter supercharged central engine, the Turbo certainly did not go unnoticed, for its widened fenders and futuristic interiors, designed by the Bertone-style center. Conceived for rallies, the car experienced a brilliant competitive career, winning among other things the 1981 Monte Carlo Rally with Ragnotti. With the Turbo there was also a very spectacular single-brand, concomitant with the Formula 1 GP from 1981 to 1984. Produced from 1980, the 5 Turbo underwent various evolutions, which led to reworked versions: the Turbo 2 of 1982 and the Maxi 5 from 1986.
