Launched in 1991, the ZX marked Citroen's return to compact cars. Unfortunately, the banal line also reflected the car's few dynamic qualities, at least in its less sporty versions. The chassis, however, was good and the ZX 16vs were interesting in handling and performance, having received the 2000cc 155 horsepower engine from the Peugeot 306, which was then increased to 167. The ZX went out of production in 1998.
