Introduced in 1968, the Daimler DS420 replaced the Princess. The car was based on the platform of the Jaguar 420G, with the famous 4235cc twin-shaft inline 6, automatic transmission, power steering and independent suspension. Some saw it as an aesthetic resemblance to the Burnley Streamline. Quite rare (4116 complete units were built plus 927 chassis for independent bodywork makes), it went out of production in 1992.
