The old Chevy II, receiving the name Nova, made one forget the previous versions with mostly 6-cylinder engines. The SS was first equipped with a 195 horsepower V8 283ci as the basic mechanics. The power was already high, given the limited weight of the car and its reduced dimensions, at least compared to other American cars. Chevrolet then introduced a 350-horsepower 327ci engine, which gained enthusiastic acclaim from motoring fans.
