The Ford Gran Torino model year 1974-76 was amongst the stars of the Starsky & Hutch tv-series. The car came in red with a white stripe and special alu Ansen Sprint rims. At the very beginning screenwriter William Blinn wanted a Chevrolet Camaro to be driven by the two policemen, but the management had to choose a Ford, this make being the sole authorized supplier of the Spelling-Goldberg production. The aggressive look made the Gran Torino become extremely popular, so that Ford decided to produce a limited edition of “Zebra 3” coming in red with the well known white stripe. The car also appeared in other tv productions, such as the Slot Machine episode of the Hazzard series.
