Several Fiat new models made their appearance in the spring of 1971, including the sporty version of the 128 sedan, called the 128 Rally. Derived from the 2-door configuration, it had a more powerful 1290cc engine (type 128AR.000) for 67 horsepower. Other mechanical changes concerned the gearbox, brakes, tires and electrical system. Aesthetically, the bodywork took on a sportier appearance, with a modified front, rear lights with double circular elements and different interiors. The Rally also had a good sports career, in rallies but also on the track; for example, the cars prepared by Trivellato are mentioned.
