When the Ford Mustang made its appearance in 1964, great was the uproar that caused this car, considered the prototype of the pony car. Available as fastback coupe, convertible and hardtop, the first series Mustang had a three-year career during which 1.3 million units were sold. The engines could be 6-cylinder in-line or V8, with a maximum power of 271 hp.
