The Ferrari 315S was designed for the 1957 World Sports Championship, alongside the updated versions of the 290MM. The engine was the 12-cylinder brought to 3783.40cc, with a power of approximately 360hp at 7800 rpm. One of the most prestigious victories of the season was the one obtained by Piero Taruffi in the last Mille Miglia in history. After a good duel with Maserati, which lasted the whole season, Ferrari managed to obtain victory in the constructors' championship, thanks to the results of the 315S and the 335S, with the larger engine.
