Over the course of the season, efforts to add some new cars to the already existing lineup were carried on, with further developed cars such as the 857S, equipped with a 3421cc 4-cylinder in-line engine with a power of 280 horsepower at 5800 rpm. The car had the chassis of the 750 Monza and made its debut at the 1955 Tourist Trophy.
