EX135 is perhaps the most famous of all MG record cars. This is the car, originally ordered by George Eyston, which was based on the K3, with oblique transmission as the EX127 and with body shapes both for road-racing and record events. After a brilliant career in 1935 and 1936, during which time it became the first car of its class to cover 120 miles in the hour, this chassis formed the basis of Goldie Gardner’s famous record vehicle, which raised the Class F and Class G flying mile records to over 200 mph in 1939; the car continued record-breaking with a wide variety of engines almost annually (apart from the war period) up until Goldie’s retirement in 1953.
