Never particularly appreciated in the years of production, the Consul Capri was a Classic with a sporty look without particularly interesting performances. Introduced in 1961, it was equipped with the already well-known 1340cc 4-cylinder engine (109E version). In 1962 the Capri received the 1498cc engine and remained in production until 1964 (version 116E). The 109Es produced were 11143, while the 116Es were 7573. A rarer GT version, with a 1.5-liter engine, was marketed in about 2000 units.
