In a period of great regulations changes, the ACO, organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, hoped that the 1995 edition of the race would be won by a prototype of the new WSC category. This was not the case, also due to the particularly critical weather conditions, which brought out the incredible McLaren F1-GTR driven by Sekiya/Lehto/Dalmas. A historic victory, the first for McLaren, and also the first for a Japanese driver (Sekiya). The McLarens eventually occupied four of the top five places overall.
