The first cars produced by Moskvitch were pre-war Opel Kadetts marketed from 1947 with molds purchased in Germany. The 407 went into production in 1958 and was a very classic family sedan, equipped with a 1357cc 4-cylinder engine. Production continued until 1964, when the 407 was replaced by the 408 and 426 models.
