EDICOLA - DACIA - 2000 (BASE RENAULT 20) 1980

The last model produced in the first period under the Renault license, the Dacia 2000 had a rather short and anonymous career. Reserved for the regime's elites, it owes its fame to the two examples made for Nicolae Ceausescu. Technically, the Dacia 2000 was the twin sister of the Renault 20 L and TL first series, and was equipped with the 1.6 96hp engine with 4-speed transmission of the Renault 16 TX. The two models built for Ceausescu, on the other hand, echoed the aesthetic evolution of the second series Renault 20 and the mechanics of the Renault 20 TS with a 1995cc and 104hp Douvrin engine. Production of the Dacia 2000 lasted from 1980 to 1981, the year in which relations between the Romanian brand and Renault were interrupted.
