The Silver Shadow marked a change in the history of Rolls Royce, with the chassis-less configuration. The car, in production since 1966, had the classic 6230cc V8 engine already seen on the second and third series of the Silver Cloud. In 1970 the engine was stretched to 6750cc. With the Silver Shadow, Rolls Royce confirmed its very high standard of construction, and customers highly appreciated this model, a classic from the seventies.
