After the C5.R GTS, to C6.R GT1, the C6.R GTE and the C7.R GTE, the C8.R continues the tradition of the Corvettes for endurance racing, with a technical philosophy of total breakdown: the V8 naturally aspirated engine is still there, but it is mounted centrally and has some mechanical updates. The C8.R debuted at the 2020 Daytona 24 Hours.
