Eleven years after Smart, in 2008 Toyota launched into the microcars market, with a different approach than the German brand: the IQ offered 4 seats, three of which could be occupied by adults thanks to the original shape of the interior. Sold at very high prices, the IQ was not very successful on any continent. Alongside the 1000 and 1300cc petrol engines, the IQ was also offered with a 1400cc diesel derived from that of the Yaris. The IQ went out of production in 2014.
