In 1900 Cesare Isotta joined forces with the two Fraschini brothers, Oreste and Vincenzo, to manufacture single-cylinder cars inspired by Renaults. To make themselves known to the public, they launched an ambitious program in competitions, using a large 4-cylinder with overhead camshaft. Since 1905 the company produced exclusively 4-cylinder engines, from 1.4 to 11 liters of displacement, which equipped cars renowned for their high construction quality. Isotta Fraschini reached its peak in the 1920s with a luxurious 8-cylinder in-line and famous clients such as Rudolph Valentino. The Tipo 8/A today reaches very respectable prices, which can reach up to 600,000 euros for a convertible.
