Introduced in 1969, the coupé version of the Audi 100 inherited the mechanics of the more powerful version, the one with an 1871cc engine. From the sedan, the coupe also differed in wider rims and an improved braking system with ventilated discs. Some cosmetic changes were made over the course of a rather long career, such as safer bumpers. Production ceased in 1976 - the same year as the sedan - after around 30,000 units were built.
