Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2002, the second generation of the CLK Coupé (C209 series) was a very popular car for its purity of lines and technical content. The range of versions was very wide, with 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinder engines, petrol or turbodiesel. The most powerful standard version was the CLK500 with a 388 horsepower V8 engine. AMG versions were also added to the range, with V8 engines with a maximum power of 481hp. In 2005 the C209 range underwent a restyling and the car went out of production in 2010, when the E-Class Coupé was launched.
