Maisto has been producing diecast models in various scales since 1978. The company was founded in Hong Kong in 1967 and marketed its first models under the name MC Toy. California-based Maisto International was founded in 1992. The models, which have a good price-performance ratio, are manufactured in China and Thailand. The most popular range among collectors is the 1:18, and in 2005 Maisto took over the Italian company Burago.
