After a short period of transition with the Volante, derived from the DB5 Convertible model, in 1966 the cabriolet version of the DB6 was presented, which was called DB6 Volante. The DB6 Volante adopted the long chassis of the Coupé and the truncated tail, with a 2 + 2 configuration, according to a certain fashion of the time. A second series of DB6 (MkII) was marketed in 1969, with wider wheel passages to allow the mounting of larger rims. A total of 140 DB6 Volante units were built, including 29 with the Vantage option (325 horsepower instead of the standard 266) and 68 with the automatic transmission.
