Signed by Bertone, the Jaguar Pirana was designed in 1967 by Marcello Gandini and presented at the London Motor Show. Using the mechanical basis of the 4.2-liter Jaguar E-Type, the car was developed at the request of the Daily Telegraph newspaper to materialize the "ideal car". The Pirana remained a unique example but its shapes inspired the Lamborghini Espada which appeared a year later.
