After the success of the larger cars, Jensen decided to produce some smaller and less bulky models. The choice of the engine fell on the 1973cc twin cam 4 cylinder tuned by Lotus. After being fitted to the spyder designed by Donald Healey, it was used on the GT coupé, in production from 1975 to 1976.
