In 1909 General Motors acquired the Cadillac brand, which for a long time remained at the forefront in the application of technical solutions: the electric starter was already used in 1912, while the first V8 engines were marketed as early as 1914. Even more complex splits such as the V12 and even the V16 were in production in the early 1930s and the Cadillac became the most popular luxury car in the world.
