The third and last generation of the Ford Capri was marketed starting from 1978. Aesthetically, it was the front that received the main changes. The equipment of accessories and the level of finish of the passenger compartment also improved. As for the engines, in addition to the quite asphyxiated 4-cylinder 1.6 liters (73 horsepower) and 2 liters (101 horsepower), the range included much more attractive V6s designed by German Ford: 90 horsepower for the 2-liter, 114 horsepower for the 2.3-liter 130 horsepower for the 3-liter (with exceptional torque qualities) up to 160 horsepower for the 2.8-liter injection, which is the most popular with collectors today, except for the very rare RS. The Capri III was produced until 1984.
