The V8 was the epitome of the most discreet sports sedan. Introduced in 1989, it aesthetically resembled a “normal” 200 Quattro 20v, but in reality it hid a powerful 3.6-liter 250hp V8 engine, which later became a 280-horsepower 4.2-liter engine. The transmission was integral with two Torsen differentials. The V8 was not a commercial success and went out of production in 1994. It remains in any case a typical example of Audi technology, a refined car, well built and with safe behavior.
