This reduced fuel consumption and also resulted in an increase in power of about 8 horsepower (from 122 to 130). As of December 1978, the 2000L was also available with a ZF automatic transmission. The "L" remained in production until 1982, when the 116.55F arrived which kept the 01655 engine.
