In 1966 the Alfa Romeo GT coupe also received the 1300cc engine, which flanked the 1600. This operation made the car (known as the 105.30 type) accessible to a wider range of customers, especially young people. The engine was the well-known 89-horsepower 1290cc (type 00530), which retained the Giulietta sizes. Aesthetically, the 1300 Junior had only one frieze on the grille; in 1969 some mechanical and aesthetic modifications were introduced, which continued in the following years, until 1975, the last production year. From 1972 the Junior was also available with a 1600cc engine.
