After debuting in 1994, Keith Wiggins’s Pacific team secured the possibility of another season with the help of sponsor Ursus and Japanese businessman Ko Gotoh. An agreement was also reached with the owners of the Lotus brand and so officially the team was called Pacific Team Lotus for 1995. The Ilmor V10 engine was abandoned to adopt the 3-liter Ford V8 model ED. Frank Coppuck designed a completely new car that showed clear progress compared to the PR01 of the previous year but was not yet sufficiently reliable. Giovanni Lavaggi, Jean-Denis Délétraz, Andrea Montermini and Bertrand Gachot were the pilots of the Pacific in 1995 and no significant results were obtained. The best results were two eighth places, by Montermini in Germany and by Gachot in Australia.
