More modern but less personal: this is how the Saab 900 Cabriolet was welcomed at its presentation. The car, marketed since 1994, took on the name 9-3 in 1998, with some changes, including the abandonment of the 2.5-litre 170hp Opel V6, in favor of the 185hp 2-litre turbo, later increased to 200hp. /205hp. A "Viggen" version was also marketed, very lively (230hp) but not always reliable. The 9-3 Cabriolet remained in production until 2003.
More specifically, the Viggen versions were characterized by the 2.3-liter B235R engine, which provided a generous dose of horsepower. Some touches to the bodywork gave it a slightly more aggressive look, while the chassis received some small changes to gain sportiness. Some particularly eye-catching colours were added to the options list.
