The SV version (for “superveloce”, i.e. "superfast") of the Murcielago appeared at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009. The weight gain compared to the base model (the LP640-4) of the new LP670-4 SV reached 100 kg, saving a little here and there on all the components of the car: 20 kg on the structure, 13 kg on the bodywork, 33 kg on the mechanics, 34 kg on the cockpit. The engine was still the 6496cc V12 but the power went from 640 to 670 horsepower. The maximum speed exceeded 340 km / h. 186 examples of the SV were produced until 2010.
