With the G series, Porsche proposed a major evolution of the 911 model. To comply with the strict American laws on safety and pollution, the bumpers were considerably extended and the engine capacity increased to 2687cc by adopting a Bosch K-Jetronic injection of last generation. The base model was offered with a power of 150hp at 5700 rpm, replacing the 2.4-litre 911T. Marketed from summer 1973, the standard 911 G series gained 15 horsepower with the 1975 production year. The car remained in the catalog until 1977, totaling a production of 17,260 units, coupé or targa.
