That of June 1959 remains the only Aston Martin victory at Le Mans to this day. Car number 5, driven by the American Carroll Shelby - who said that he did not eat anything during the entire race but had drunk liters of Coca-Cola - and the English Roy Salvadori, won the race at 181.163 km / h average.
