Before the 1980 F1 season, Emerson Fittipaldi's team absorbed the Wolf, which had made its debut in 1977. The Wolf WR7 and WR8 appeared in early 1980 under the designation F7, a provisional car which then gave way to the new F8. The F8 also followed the general lines of the Wolf. Equipped with the Ford Cosworth V8 engine, the Fittipaldi F8 was a fairly conventional single-seater, used for the rest of the 1980 season. seventh place in the final ranking of manufacturers.
