The retirement of the backer Bowmaker Group in late 1962 forced Reg Parnell to revise his plans for the 1963 F1 season. Parnell bought Bowmaker's premises in Hounslow (Middlesex, UK), and two Lola Mk4 chassis with Climax engines. V8. During 1963 the team alternated the use of the Lola (also in the advanced version Mk4A) with the Lotus 24 powered by BRM and Climax.
