The BRM P138 F.1 was essentially a development of the 1968 P133, with a modified chassis and gearbox built by BRM itself. In 1969 the car raced with the 48 valve version of the V12 engine, without ever being particularly competitive. P138 was driven by Bill Brack, George Eaton, Jackie Oliver, John Surtees and Bobby Unser.
