In 1966 Lotus used both 43 and 33 with BRM and Climax engines. The 33 were entrusted to various pilots, also on the occasion of their home GP: Pedro Rodriguez piloted a Climax motorized specimen at the Mexican GP (and also in France). In the United States, Rodriguez piloted the 33 BRM motor. On all three occasions Rodriguez had to retire.
