After the revolution that wiped out the communist regime, Dacia had to face an unprecedented situation with the arrival of fierce and more modern competition. First urgency, to restore interest to the best-selling model, the 1310. The car was subject to a restyling, with a new front and new bumpers. The engine remained the 1397cc, which developed a power of 63hp. In 1994 there was a new restyling which introduced a new grille and more rounded headlights. Two new injection engines, 1400 and 1600cc, also made their entry. The 1310 went out of production in 1999.
