The 1498cc engine, marked with the initials 547/3, largely corresponded to those mounted on the 550 and 718. At the beginning of its use it had an output of approx. 160 horses. At the beginning of 1962 a 1500cc type 547/6 four overhead camshaft engine reached 187 horsepower and subsequently a third version reached 189.
