At the end of 1956, Ferrari developed a second series of the 500 TR Sport, on which several changes were made, also to make it compliant with the new technical regulations of the Sport category. It was again Scaglietti who built the beautiful bodies of the 500 TRC. The car was equipped with a 2000cc inline 4 cylinder engine and 180 horsepower. The 500 TRCs were not officially used by Ferrari but were entrusted to private drivers and teams. With a 500 TRC prince Gaetano Starrabba and Franco Cortese won the 2000 class at the Targa Florio 1958, finishing in seventh place overall.
