In the sixties, Mercedes still did not like breaks, but in the face of the quality of the creations of the Belgian coachbuilder IMA, cars derived from the W110 and W111 series were marketed. Christened the Universal, this model was available in Germany, Belgium and the UK. In 1965 the 190DC (W110) models were presented, while the following year the range was completed with the 200 / 200D (W110) and the version most sought after by collectors today, the 230S (W111).
