In May 1983 Pininfarina began to study a convertible configuration of the Peugeot 205. The goal was not to alter the line of the donor model, which was a great commercial success. The car was presented in 1986 and was declined in many variants, including the limited series, the Roland Garros, presented at the 1990 Geneva Motor Show. The Roland Garros differed from the other 205 Cabriolets for the automatic top, for the fittings interior and for the green color.
