SPARK-MODEL - AUDI - QUATTRO SPORT S1 N 5 WINNER RALLY SANREMO 1985 W.ROHRL - C.GEISTDORFER

In 1984, Audi began developing the Group B Sport Quattro S1 campaigned in the World Rally Championship. The new car, the S1 E2, obtained Group B homologation on 1 July 1985 after the construction of the twenty units required by the regulations. The bodywork got several improvements, including enlarged wheel arches and showy wings. From a mechanical point of view, the engine remained the 2110cc 4-cylinder of the Sport Quattro Gr.B, but with a 6-speed transmission instead of the 5 and with an increase in power from 400 to 476 HP. The S1 E2 made its debut at the Rally of Argentina in the summer of 1985, achieving its only victory at the San Remo of the same year with Rohrl / Geistdorfer. The car's last race was the Rally of Portugal in March 1986, after which Audi decided to withdraw from World Rally Championship.
