In the 1969 F1 season, British Racing Motors underwent a fairly radical technical and organizational restructuring. The new P138 and P139, however, did not prove to be very competitive. During the first part of the season, the 1968 P133 was seen again, with Jackie Oliver at the wheel, obtaining a seventh place in South Africa as the best result. At the end of the year, BRM was fifth in the constructors' championship, with just 7 points.
