The Brabham BT38 was a completely new model, which allowed engines and configurations for the F.2, F.3 and F Atlantic. Designed by Geoff Ferris, the BT38 was the first Brabham with a monocoque frame, with a square section of aluminum behind the driver. About forty cars were ordered by customers, including the Rondel F.2 team, backed by Motul, which had a particularly ambitious sports program. Top level drivers such as Jaussaud, Reutemann and Wollek raced with the BT38 in Formula 2, while Tony Brise stood out in F.3, enjoying direct support from Brabham.
