For the 1961 F1 season, the Equipe Nationale Belge (ENB) ordered three new Emerysons, for Olivier Gendebien, Willy Mairesse and Lucien Bianchi. At the Belgian GP, the organizers reserved three seats for ENB, one of which was occupied by Gendebien, who was driving a Ferrari for the occasion. With Bianchi and Mairesse's two Emerysons proving very slow in qualifying, the team borrowed two Lotus 18s from Wolfgang Seidel and Tony Marsh. The cars were hastily painted yellow (the Belgian national color) and retired even before lap 10. The ENB at that point left the F1 championship.
