The Formula 2 Lola T100 for 1967 was a significantly improved car over the previous year's T62 F.2/F.3. Surtees won two races, including one at Mallory Park in the rain over three laps ahead of the runner-up. Four chassis were given to BMW to be used with the "Apfelbeck" engine, which always proved to be a problematic unit. In most of the Surtees and Hobbs races, factory drivers from the Lola Racing Team (an operation run by John Surtees) used Cosworth FVA engines. Powered by the BMW, however, Surtees finished second at the Nurburgring and Hobbs third again at the Nurburgring, proving that the car's chassis was really good. With Cosworth FVA Surtees won at Zandvoort as well as Mallory Park. The BMW works cars were often referred to as BMWs and not Lolas and their best result was a fourth place by Hahne at the Eifelrennen. The Surtees team and David Bridges continued to use the Lola T100s also in the 1968 season.
